Por Los Caminos Del Avila by Eduardo Rosswaag
As a founding member of the club known as the Excursionists of Caracas (1928), Eduardo Rosswaag spent the greater part of his life hiking in what is known today as the Avila National Park (210,509 acres of mountain terrain north of Caracas). He was enamored of the area, attracted by its natural beauty so close at hand, and knew the mountains that form the Park like the back of his hand. The book tells of his experiences, including stories of historical ruins, descriptions of the tropical abundance surrounding the hiker and the panoramas to be seen. It can be used as an informal guide, and includes a map of all the park’s trails.
